Accessible Documents - Student Tutors training

At ACCESS@KIT teaching materials are prepared for visually impaired students so that they are accessible for them.

The ACCESS@KIT staff is supported by 15 to 20 student assistants. They are trained at the beginning of their contract on how to process texts and graphics in an accessible way. This training is regularly held at the beginning of the semester.

The way of processing is dependent on the working technique of the visually impaired student. To mention only a few examples: mathematical formulas are transferred into a LaTeX source code, graphics made tactile, documents restructured, handwritten documents changed into digital ones or the font types or sizes adjusted.
